    Wadjup, the Noongar name for the Canning flats, refers to the area downriver from Riverton Bridge and includes the Clontarf, Waterford and Salter Point foreshores which cover 34 hectares of land, providing habitat for over 74 species of birds,12 reptile and 6 amphibian species.     Are you aware of the wetland lakes in South Perth? Set back from the foreshore cycle and walking paths in Clydesdale Reserve these beautiful lakes often go unnoticed. There are no paved paths around the lakes but the lovely grass is green and relatively flat so should be accessible for prams and wheelchairs.     Jacaranda Festival

    The weekend of 24/25 November was the Rotary Jacaranda Festival Weekend in Applecross celebrating the magnificent flowering Jacaranda trees with a fabulous market. Parking can be an issue as this is a popular event and some parking costs $10 a car so we chose to walk in to the Festival eliminating the need to park.
