    Jacaranda Festival

    The weekend of 24/25 November was the Rotary Jacaranda Festival Weekend in Applecross celebrating the magnificent flowering Jacaranda trees with a fabulous market. Parking can be an issue as this is a popular event and some parking costs $10 a car so we chose to walk in to the Festival eliminating the need to park.     On a stunning Spring day we set out from Point Walter Reserve after a delicious breakfast at Walters River Cafe. Although this walk is called the Jenna Biddi Yorga Walk we didn't see any signposts with this name on it. We crossed Point Walter Road onto the paved dual use path heading to Bicton Baths.     Point Walter Sand Bar

    Another magnificent Autumn Day and we went to Point Walter Reserve to have a go at Stand Up Paddle Boarding (SUP). The cool water was an added incentive not to fall off! There are a few companies that hire SUP boards here starting at around $25/hour. It is also an easy place to unload if you have your own.
