    Hidden Gems - Woodlupine Brook

    Woodlupine Brook Reserve in Beckenham is a narrow park that follows Woodlupine Brook between Mills Park Reserve and Roe Highway, where it disappears under the road. The brook has been developed as a living stream combining it's drainage function with grassy parkland. Footpaths criss-cross over the stream at various intervals allowing you to interact with the brook as you wander through the park.     Hidden Gems: Sandown Park - Henley Brook

    We came across this park by accident but hopped out to have a wander around. From our starting point on the eastern edge it just looked like a park with a walking path around a lake. The lake was quite pretty as we wandered the path, passing some swings and enjoying the birdlife.     Cockman House Wanneroo

    Cockman House is the oldest remaining house in Wanneroo. It was built in the 1850's using locally quarried limestone for it's 500mm thick walls and jarrah for it's timber ceilings. It was built close to the northern stock route, 8 hours travel from Perth along a sand track. The Cockman and Backshall families lived here from 1860 to as recently as 1987.
