King's Park Detective Trail and Naturescape

Updated: Feb 27, 2020

After purchasing the King's Park Detective Trail clues ($9.95 for PDF from https://www.puzzlewalks.com.au/trails/) we set off to find who the guilty party was. The instructions recommended allowing 2-3 hours for the trail and it took us about 2.5 hours so allow plenty of time and take water and snacks with you. The trail led us through some amazing parts of the Park and encouraged us to observe our surroundings very closely to find our clues. If we had stopped to read all the botanical and historical information along the way we could have taken all day! We managed to get off the trail a few times when we didn't read the instructions properly but were soon back on track. There were quite a few clues we couldn't figure out but we have kept our trail sheet and may go back another day to see if we can cross off the remaining names to discover the guilty party! This trail could easily be broken into two parts with a picnic lunch break in between. I would recommend this for older kids who can read the signs for clues. Families with younger children could still enjoy a lovely walk around this area with plenty to see and do along the way.

After our picnic lunch in the beautiful gardens we walked over to Naturescape (a short walk from the Wadjuk car park) where the kids explored the awesome new additions. This Play Space is definitely designed for kids - low ceilings, steep climbs, slippery exits and ladders everywhere! The creek was a big hit and the kids would quite happily have spent the entire day building dams! The park is more open than previously so you might find yourself clambering over rocks to keep them in sight but that is all part of the fun.
