Sculpture by the Sea 2022

2022 - wandering along beautiful Cottesloe Beach in the late afternoon (5pm) of another very hot day (37 degrees) cleared my head as we checked out this year's sculptures.

Can you tell I really liked the mother and child!

Lots of interactive sculptures to keep the kids entertained!

On the hill the backdrop of the beach is just stunning and really adds to some of the artworks!

I love that people can use the grassy areas and the beach to relax and have a drink or a meal but I do wonder why some people insist on sitting right next to the artworks making it really difficult for people to get up close to have a look!

Out on the breakwater with views up and down the coast.

Back along the beach...

This was another of my favourites.

As was this colourful sea anemone made from recycled materials.

And finally eating fish and chips as the sun sets! Perfect!

With dwindling corporate sponsorship this event is asking visitors to pay $5 a head or to make a donation. There are collection boxes at some of the main entry points off Marine Parade so make sure you pop in some change so that we can continue to enjoy this amazing event in years to come.

In the spirit of reconciliation Out and About- Family Nature Connection acknowledges the traditional owners of the Wadjak boodjar (Perth land) and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
