Point Heathcote - Goolugatup - with Heathcote Pirate Playground - Applecross
We walked this as an extension of our Deepwater Point Two Bridges walk and crossed under Canning Bridge to the northern side of Canning Highway. Parking in this area is somewhat limited so I would recommend this as either a loop walk or a there and back walk starting from Jeff Joseph or Heathcote Reserves, If you are doing a loop it is more scenic walking from the Raffles Hotel towards Point Heathcote as you have city views. As you walk past the Raffles Hotel there are s

Point Walter Sand Spit - Djoondalup
We've spent time at beautiful Point Walter on a number of occasions and always find something different to keep us busy. The first visit was on a magnificent Autumn Day to have a go at Stand Up Paddle Boarding (SUP). The cool water was an added incentive not to fall off! There are a few companies that hire SUP boards here but it is also an easy place to unload if you have your own. Jenna Bidi Yorga - Blackwall Reach - Bicton Baths
Jenna Bidi Yorga means “women’s feet walking on the path” in Whadjuk Noongar. This trail traverses the ancient lands of the Whadjuk Noongar people from Djoondalup (the Point Walter Sand spit) along Jenalup "the place where the feet make a track" (Blackwall Reach) to Kwoppa Kepa "beautiful water" (Bicton Foreshore). It is a culturally significant trail which carries the Dreamtime story of Djunda the Charnock woman. Jenalup is traditionally a place for women and children to

East Fremantle Riverside Walk with the Niergarup Track - Melville Water Riverpark Trail
Some time ago we walked the Jenna Biddi Yorga along Blackwall Reach from Point Walter to Bicton Baths continuing on along the river to Wauhop Road at Jerrat Drive. We finally managed to complete this section of the river by walking from The Left Bank Cafe on Riverside Road in East Fremantle back to Wauhop Road. We parked at The Left Bank on Riverside Road and completed two loops from there. The Left Bank is the old Boat Builder's House and features on the East Fremantle

Applecross Jetty and Jacaranda Festival - Melville Water Riverpark Trail
On a weekend late in November the Rotary Jacaranda Festival Weekend is on in Applecross, celebrating the magnificent flowering Jacaranda trees with a fabulous market. Parking can be an issue as this is a popular event and some parking costs $10 a car so we chose to walk in to the festival eliminating the need to park. We started our walk at Ardross, parking at Troy Park (we did have to park on the edge as a cricket game was in progress at the club and the parking bays wer
