Ghost House Trail - Yanchep (Yandjip) National Park
This is another trail which has been on my list to revisit for some time! We originally walked this trail some years ago by accident after missing the turn off while walking the Caves Trail. At that time I wasn't overly impressed with the trail but that may have been our state of mind as it seemed never ending considering we were supposed to be hiking a 4km trail! This time we headed off in July and walked in a clockwise direction, as recommended, and I now understand why i

Caves Trail - Yanchep (Yandjip) National Park
Yanchep National Park has such a wide variety of trails there is one to suit everybody from the flat 2km Wetlands Walk Trail around Loch McNess to the Coastal Plain Trail which is 51km long! After hiking the 12km Ghost House Trail in July we returned in early August to explore the shorter 4km Caves Trail. The trail is a loop trail and the most popular starting point is from McNess House Visitor Centre where the trail passes by the koala enclosure, crossing the road for a sect

Woodlands Walk Trail - Yanchep (Yandjip) National Park
Yanchep National Park is always beautiful at any time of the year. In early winter there were still a few splashes of autumn colour to offset the greens leading down to the lake. The Woodlands Walk Trail and many other trails all start behind the Yanchep Tea Rooms. If you get to the camping ground you have gone too

Yaberoo Budjara Heritage Trail - Lacey Road to Loch McNess, Yanchep National Park
This beautiful walk takes about 2 hours at a good pace and is just over 5km one way. The City of Wanneroo organises yearly guided walks for this section of the Yaberoo Budjara Heritage Trail led by local Noongar, Derek Nannup. The advantage of a guided tour is that after meeting at Wangi Mia in Yanchep National Park you are transported by mini bus to Lacey Road to start the trail. Otherwise you would need two cars to access both ends of the trail - or walk there and back

Wetlands Trail - Yanchep (Yandjip) National Park
The Wetlands Walk Trail is a 2.6km loop trail around Loch McNess in Yanchep National Park. If you walk down the path from the McNess House Visitor's Centre to the lake you can turn right or left and follow the edge of the lake to find the trail. This trail is represented by a bulrushes icon on the trail markers. We did the trail in a clockwise direction heading past the old boat and raindrop sculpture in the picnic area. If you do this as a regular walk it would be interest
