Yaberoo Budjara Heritage Trail - Neerabup Road to Hester Avenue in Neerabup National Park
The Yaberoo Budjara Trail is a 28km trail between Neil Hawkins Park in Joondalup and Loch McNess in Yanchep traversing sections of Yellagonga Regional Park, Neerabup National Park and Yanchep National Park. The trail roughly runs parallel to Wanneroo Road and has various access points. Yaberoo Budjara Heritage Trail - Lacey Road to Loch McNess, Yanchep National Park
This beautiful walk takes about 2 hours at a good pace and is just over 5km one way. The City of Wanneroo organises yearly guided walks for this section of the Yaberoo Budjara Heritage Trail led by local Noongar, Derek Nannup. The advantage of a guided tour is that after meeting at Wangi Mia in Yanchep National Park you are transported by mini bus to Lacey Road to start the trail. Otherwise you would need two cars to access both ends of the trail - or walk there and back

Yaberoo Budjara Trail - Burns Beach Road to Neerabup Road
One sunny morning with rain forecast we set out to explore the Yaberoo Budjara Heritage Trail from Burns Beach Road. We regularly pass this trail and look at the dirt road going up the hill and think it looks a little boring but today we discovered that this road is an access road for vehicles and the trail starts on the western side of the Yaberoo Budjara sign. 10th Light Horse Heritage Trail - Wanneroo
We walked this trail again in 2025 as part of the Yaberoo Budjara Heritage Trail - Neerabup Road to Hester Avenue section. The 10th Light Horse Heritage Trail is a 1.2km loop trail with a separate access trail to join the Yaberoo Budjara Trail. Access for both is from the carpark off Wanneroo Road just north of Neerabup Road. There are several parking bays but no other facilities.
